my gf Julie sent me a link to this article.  it's just like her to send me such a silly article :D

i like how nicely the account rep. Jane Gilles takes it, and how she plays along.  she's a professional and demands payment, but she is civil and is willing to work with the silly man to get her point across.  good job Jane!

Dear Jane, Are you sure this drawing of a spider is the one I sent you? This spider only has seven legs and I do not feel I would have made such an elementary mistake when I drew it.

Regards, David.

Dear David, Yes it is the same drawing. I copied and pasted it from the email you sent me on the 8th. David your account is still overdue by the amount of $233.95. Please make this payment as soon as possible.

Yours sincerely, Jane Gilles

Thankyou for contacting me. I am currently away on leave, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

Hello, I am back and have read through your emails and accept that despite missing a leg, that drawing of a spider may indeed be the one I sent you. I realise with hindsight that it is possible you rejected the drawing of a spider due to this obvious limb ommission but did not point it out in an effort to avoid hurting my feelings. As such, I am sending you a revised drawing with the correct number of legs as full payment for any amount outstanding. I trust this will bring the matter to a conclusion.

Regards, David.

Dear David, As I have stated, we do not accept drawings in lei of money for accounts outstanding. We accept cheque, bank cheque, money order or cash. Please make a payment this week to avoid incurring any additional fees.

Yours sincerely, Jane Gilles

I understand and will definately make a payment this week if I remember. As you have not accepted my second drawing as payment, please return the drawing to me as soon as possible. It was silly of me to assume I could provide you with something of completely no value whatsoever, waste your time and then attach such a large amount to it.

Regards, David.

ok ok, so Federer won the US Open...

ten_g_rogerfederer_580

good job Fed!

u know, these have been confusing times for me...  Federer is no longer #1.  he has been losing a lot more frequently.  and he seems a *bit* more honest in his interviews - normally he's a total media suck-up and he just says what he thinks ppl wanna hear.  it is getting harder to haterer him...

what really did it for me was his celebration after winning the Olympic tennis doubles gold with swiss partner Stan Wawrinka.  the rare moment of genuine joy was kinda endearing...  watch the video

fed_waw_doubles

i like the part when they hug and start jumping up and down and Stan's shoulder catches Fed on the chin and stuns him for a second, before resuming jumping up and down haha (2:35 into the video) ...  and the warming of the hands on the "on fire" Wawrinka was pretty darn funny too.

but NO!  i must be strong and keep my Federer haterer ways!@

unrelated, but kinda related, here's a funny pic of "my boy" (he's not my boy!) Nadal and his doubles partner Carlos Moya:

ten_g_nadal_195

the caption of this pic read:

"Rafael Nadal, right, and Carlos Moya may have taken the doubles theme to the extreme in Monday's match at the Rome Masters."

the matching capri pants is the best part! lol! :D  Moya must have lost a bet or something cos i can't imagine how he could have been talked into this haha

i didn't think he could top last year's white blazer suit (federer-wimbledon-1) as a way to highlight his self-importance and snobbishness on the court, but this year Federer came up with a limited edition cardigan.  he is the only one wearing it.  apparently it only costs 260 GBP...

Roger_Federer__355897a

the cardigan has 5 buttons commemorating his 5 Wimbledon titles... nice touch...  blehh!

The inscription on the five buttons refers to his five victories: a self-congratulatory refrain that is deeply unattractive in a tennis player.

ok, but on to the main topic at hand...

in continuation of my Federer-haterer ways i have post about Rafael Nadal beating Roger Federer in the greatest match ever at the Wimbledon final :D

a screen capture of the tv makes it official ;)

i would like to see this kind of picture more often:

just like on clay

ten_g_nadal_v2_vwt

some things Fed said afterwards:

"It's rough on me now, obviously, you know, to lose the biggest tournament in the world over maybe a bit of light."

excuses, excuses...   Nadal was obviously out on the same court at the same time under the same conditions..

"I wasn't happy the way I was playing break points early on, no doubt," Federer said after losing 6-4, 6-4, 7-6 (5), 7-6 (8), 9-7 in a Wimbledon classic on Centre Court. "Except the one I made. It was fantastic."

good job Fed!  that one break of serve was indeed fantastic.  you did it!

ah haha, i'm so happy! :D   now, onto the US Open!

it has been a good couple of weeks for the hater in me :)  specifically, i am a Roger Federer, and Kobe Bryant HATER haha.

first, i was super satisfied that Rafael Nadal gave Roger a complete spanking (6-1, 6-3, 6-0) in the French Open final :D

then Kobe Bryant and the Lakers got spanked 131-92 in game 6 of the NBA Finals and lost to the Celtics

pg2_g_kobe_200

nba_g_bigthree_580

by far my favorite moment of the entire series was when Ray Allen blew by Sasha Vujacic for a wide open layup in crunch time in game 4, during the Celtics' monumental come-from-behind victory:

i love how Sasha is almost in tears during the timeout!  man, why am i such a hater!?

on the love side tho, i'm really happy that KG finally won a championship.  i've always been a fan of his so i'm happy to see him solidify his career and turn back all the doubters - damn haters! :p

coming up this week is Wimbledon where i am hoping, rooting, and wishing for Roger Federer to break his streak of 5 consecutive wins and LOSE to someone - preferably Rafael Nadal :D    if Roger loses i think i would have fulfilled my h8er quota for the next couple of years!    hmm... ok, maybe months...  ;)

wow.. it has been a while since i posted something on here.  does anyone read xanga anymore?    i guess facebook took over the scene...  but i don't mind so much.  i rather post stuff here than on facebook cos on FB anyone and everyone can read what you wrote. here, only the people that know about your blog can read.   at this point, i'm using this space just to document things for prosperity's sake.

Snowboarding

since i bought snowboarding gear during the summer this was supposed to be the winter when i finally learned how to snowboard.  i have been snowboarding on and off since college, but i have never gone enough times during any one season to actually learn.  every year i've had to start from scratch.

this year i went 3 times, and that was juuust enough to finally pick it up!  the 3rd time was this past weekend and i was actually having fun, carving, and going a decent speed by the end of the night.  snowboarding is finally a hobby, and not excercise on physical pain :)

it helped that i had a snowboarding master to give me pointers :D

i think i learned enough to actually make long distance snowboarding trips worthwhile.  what's the point of going to tahoe just to fall a bunch of times, u know?  next year i want to check out the mountains on the west coast.  mammoth, here i come!

Family

while clicking through the pages of my blog i noticed that the posts i like the most are the ones about my family, and especially my nieces.  pics of my nieces are really one of few inspirations to make new posts nowadays.

Halloween 2007 in LA:

my sister hosted a piƱata party.  the kids didn't dress up at this party.
